PAY ATTENTION TO Utility Industry Revenues vs Kilowatts Delivered

It is worth paying attention to United States utility industry revenue growth the  and comparing it with how much product (kilowatt hours) they actually deliver.

According to the United States Energy Information Administration, between the years 2003 and 2010, gross revenue increased by over 40% while total product sold was up by less than 9%.

Amounts in table above show millions of kilowatt hours – emphasis added.

In the residential sector (if my math is right), the number of kilowatt hours delivered increased by 13.32% while revenue increased by 50.97%. No wonder they are concerned about the impact distributed generation (residential rooftop) solar will have!
