PAXNRG — A Fresh Wind Blows Against the Empire

It is another of the miraculous things about people that there is no pain nor passion that does not radiate to the ends of the earth. Let a man in a garret but burn with enough intensity and he will set fire to the world. — Antoine de Saint-Exupery

An aviator and renowned author, Frenchman  Antoine de Saint-Exupéry‘s legacy includes penetrating insights. For example, in Wind, Sand & Stars he set forth a formula at least for perfection if not for success.

Perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add but when there is no longer anything to take away, when a body has been stripped down to its nakedness.

His story is not confined to conveying what humankind is, but what each one of us can be.  Gabrielle Roy paints an illuminating backdrop that helps explain why the organizers of one the greatest twentieth century found their Fair Theme in his work, to wit:

In Terre des Hommes (released as “Wind, Sand & Stars” in the US ), his haunting book, so filled with dreams and hopes for the future, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry writes of how deeply moved he was when, flying for the first time by night alone over Argentina, he happened to notice a few flickering lights scattered below him across an almost empty plain. They “twinkled here and there, alone like stars.”

…. In truth, being made aware of our own solitude can give us insight into the solitude of others. It can even cause us to gravitate towards one another as if to lessen our distress. Without this inevitable solitude, would there be any fusion at all, any tenderness between human beings.

Moved as he was by a heightened awareness of the solitude of all creation and by the human need for solidarity, Saint-Exupéry found a phrase to express his anguish and his hope that was as simple as it was rich in meaning; and because that phrase was chosen many years later to be the governing idea of Expo 67, a group of people from all walks of life was invited by the Corporation to reflect upon it and to see how it could be given tangible form.

The Politically Correct Translation of the phase TERRES DES HOMMES is “The Land of Humankind.” What does it mean to you? As you reflect, consider the counsel found in  his  The Little Prince

Here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.

Since our government appears wholly distracted by lobbyists and getting re-elected, it seems they have lost sight of their charter. Since the so-called establishment is not inclined to listen, it is our responsibility as citizens to build a new world, and build it we will.It is at once a profound and exciting undertaking!!

Central to our mechanism is a crowdfunding site called PAXNRG. It gives all like-minded people and organizations and institutions and supporters and inventors and educators and more and more a place to unite and inspire one another! Oh Goody!

  • We’ll have access to capital.
  •  Sustainability and peace related projects will have their own crowdfunding site, community, and tribe.  They’ll tell their story, get their funding, and move their projects into reality. Again and again.
  • And it will be successful. In the process, we will change the world, one little corner and project at a time.
  • So, I have to ask, “Are you in?” I hope so.

By the way, I do not claim to have a monopoly on truth. PAXNRG won’t work without you!

PAXNRG will be open for business in mid-March. Tell your friends.
